From our headquarters in Victoria, Australia, TAS have been supplying the textile printing industry for more than 35 years and in that time have built an enviable reputation for the simplicity and legendary reliability of our products.

With products ranging from small, lightning quick single colour label printers up to huge 20 colour machines and the industries largest print areas available, TAS are certain that we will have the right product for your requirements.

Welcome to our website and we look forward to being of service to you both now and in the future...

THE HISTORY OF TAS

TAS commenced in 1968 as an engineering design and development consultancy service, engaged in tooling and special purpose machine design, and moved into manufacture of screen-printing machinery in 1974.

From that time, TAS has been recognized as the industry’s major “innovator” in screen-printing equipment solutions, and significant milestones include:

1975
Introduction of a 4 colour manual rotary carousel machine, the major “innovations” of which were not incorporated by other competitors until...

20 years later.

1977-81
TAS developed special purpose machines that enabled screen printing

on-tapered containers, styrene boxes, metal tubes, light fittings, and spun metal products. This was unheard of at the time.

1982-84
TAS developed the first pallet lifting carousel machine, which today is used by all US manufactured automatic carousel machines.  This concept revolutionised the industry by offering smart cost effective method of construction, allowing high registration, accuracy and repeatability.

1985
TAS began exporting to the US, and today 60% of TAS Screen Printing Machines go to the US, and the percentage is climbing rapidly.  TAS also exports around the globe and has Accredited Resellers and Service Providers in all major countries including – Sweden, Germany, South Africa, United Kingdom, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, and New Zealand.

In the United States, TAS America (fully owned by TAS Australia), operates from facilities in California.  (TAS America website: www.tasamerica.com)

1986-97
The “innovations” during this period are too numerous to list in this brief background, however TAS “stunned” the industry when in 1997 it became the first manufacturer to provide a – 4 year guarantee.  (and today, it is still the only manufacturer to do so.  Our guarantee is more than double that of any other manufacturer)

1998-99
TAS introduced the industry’s first 16 colour automatic screen printing machine with smart electric heads featuring digital squeegee speed display for quick set ups.

2000-01
TAS releases the industry’s first automatic screen printing machine that successfully prints on transfers, as well as garments.

The PAL (Placement Attachment Loader) was introduced to make loading of Tee Shirts onto the pallets less stressful.

The ROC range of 6, 8, 10 colour presses were launched as an introduction machine for screen printers who are currently using manual presses.

2002
TAS introduced to the market its first fully electric machine, named

“The Electra Range” offering a 55cm x 76cm (22” x 30”) print size; with electric motor rotation coupled with electric print heads.

2003
TAS introduced to the market another fully electric machine, named “The Hawk Range” boasting a 46cm x 61cm (18” x 24”) print area with electric motor rotation coupled with electric print heads.

TAS Introduced to the market the first automatic- inline heat press and foiling machine for transfer applications or adding foil to prints.

2004
TAS, exhibiting at SGIA, produced the first multi colour flock print on a press using Maag of Germany. Circular belt flocking technology was later to be replaced by rectangular flocking heads that fit under the print arm, not requiring the print head to be removed as had been the case with the circular flocking head.

TAS opened it sales office in Argentina for South America.

2005-06
In July 2005 a low cost entry machine was designed and called “The Hawk Compact” 46cm x 50cm (18” x 20”) print area with the opportunity for  end users for the first time to load and unload on the same pallet and  thereby maximise the number of colours that can be printed. Sales in South America grew rapidly, giving TAS a large market share.

2007-08
2007 saw the development of our biggest machine up to date. 20 colour machines were installed in Australia and Central America.  In the same year, as a result of huge market interest, development was also completed on our large format 3000 series machines, capable of producing prints ranging from as small as sleeve sizes all the way up to all-over, off the shoulder prints. Our extruded print head also became available at this time.

2009-10
During this period and because of the success of our 3000 series machines, TAS received more and more enquiries for ever larger print areas. Because of this demand, the TAS 4000 series machine was launched. To complement this machine, a load assist unit was developed to help with the loading of very large substrates.

2011-Present
TAS has produced the world’s largest print area on a carousel, a staggering 45” x 75” in 4 colours.

TAS also developed their brand new, single colour, label-printing machine, The TAS Devil. This rapid machine is ideal for printing a variety of substrates with a 7” x 7” print area.

TAS will continue to develop products worthy of taking their place in our proud history and product range. With ease of use, reliability and value for money at the forefront of our designs, you can be sure that TAS will have a machine to suit both your pocket and your needs!

Why Buy

TAS Screen Printing Machines

Why buy TAS?

TAS screen printing machines are recognised worldwide as extremely reliable machines, simple to operate and with very low running and maintenance costs. This is not just an accident, it is our philosophy and our intention at all times to keep these costs as low as possible.

How do we do this?

Firstly, all components used have a test period where they are put under actual test conditions for a period of 4 million operations, and then assessed for wear and tear. Only then will we decide if they meet our exacting standards.
Secondly, the parts tested and finally used in the manufacture of our machines are always checked to see if they are readily available world wide so that you, the end user, can obtain them locally to where you are , quickly and without too much down time.
You can purchase your spare parts direct from TAS.

Cost of replacement parts

Of all the parts used in a TAS machine 85% can be purchased locally, anywhere in the world.
At TAS, we use standard, off the shelf components where possible to save you, the end user, time and money.
It is our promise to you that TAS will at all times keep the cost of our spare parts down to an absolute minimum.

Engineering design

Our machines have built an unparalleled reputation for reliability over many years of production.
We are always looking at new products to improve on the components we use but the criteria for acceptance of any new items is tough and if they are to be used they must:
a) Improve the performance of the component they are replacing
b) Be a stronger design and last longer.
c) Be cost effective.

Printing registration accuracy

Registration with a TAS machine is as accurate as half the thickness of a single strand of hair and will remain so for the life time of use. (30 years or more) This can only be achieved with a rigid machine base and rotor /stator assemble. TAS only use:solid ground and hardened Aluminium pallets that will last a life time under normal use.
All components that are a part of the stator and rotor assembly are wash ground before being powder coated to make certain everything is completely flat and accurate.
This commitment to strong engineering principles has given TAS the reputation of being the very best you can buy in screen printing machines.

Simple to operate

How easily an operator can understand and use our machine is of vital importance to us at TAS and this is forms the basis of how we designed and produced our Touch Panel Control (TPC) The TPC on a TAS is the control centre and while we use state of the art electronics to manage the functions of the machine, we have managed to maintain it`s simplicity by it`s clever design.

Safety features

Safety of the operator using our machine is of paramount importance, so along with the use of safety cables around the machine which, when disengaged will stop the machine, we also use a laser beam across the load and unload area for additional safety of the operator.

Printing speed (garments printed per hour)

There has been much said about how fast a machine can print but the facts remain that on average a person loading a complete Tee Shirt will average around 450-500 garments per hour. TAS machines will index at speeds of up to 900 cycles per hour, far exceeding this number.
